Calf Stretch - Standing

Stand up straight in front of a wall, place your hands on the wall at shoulder height. Place the foot of the calf you want to stretch behind you and keep the leg straight.

Bend your front knee and slowly push the heel of the back foot onto the floor so that you feel the stretch in the calf muscle. If you don't feel the stretch then move your foot further back, if you can't get your heel on the ground then bring your back foot closer to the wall until the stretch feels 7/10 and hold for at least 30 seconds.


Do's Don'ts
  • Do keep your tummy tight
  • Do keep your back straight and good posture
  • Do move in a slow controlled manner
  • Do make sure your back leg is straight
  • Do breathe slowly and deeply
  • Don't hold your breath
  • Don't push the stretch too far
  • Don't bend the knee of your back leg
  • Don't bounce to increase the stretch
