Hip Abduction - Cables
Set the cable machine so that it is at its lowest setting and attach the ankle strap just above your ankle.
Stand sideways with the leg that is strapped furthest from the cable machine. Move away from the cable machine so that the weight stack is raised. Stand up straight with your legs together and use your arm for support if you need to.
Take the strapped leg away from your body as far as you can without losing good posture. Now let your leg return to your body without the weight stack touching.
