Calf Raises - Cables
Set the cable machine up at its lowest setting and attach the short bar.
Bend your knees to pick up the bar. Take hold of it with your hands shoulder width apart and your palms facing downwards. Stand up slowly keeping your back straight using your legs.
Stand a little way away from the cable machine with your feet together and facing forwards. Keep your back straight and upright. Let your arms hang down in front of you keeping a firm grip on the handle.
Slowly go up on your tip-toes and then slowly back down again.
You will need a very good and well cared for cable machine for this exercise to work correctly. If there is not enough tension in the cable you may not feel the resistance. In this case place a step in front of the machine to give you a bit more height to perform the exercise off.
