Dorsal Raise - Swiss Ball

Lie down onto the ball on your front with your hands by your temples. Have stomach placed on the ball. Keep your head facing the floor throughout the exercise.

Now raise your shoulders and chest off the ball as high as you can get them only using your lower back muscles.

Be careful as balance on the ball can be difficult. Keep your feet wide apart to increase stability.


Do's Don'ts
  • Do keep your head facing down throughout the exercise
  • Do breathe out on the way up and in on the way down
  • Do keep the movement slow and controlled
  • Do be careful with your balance
  • Don't rush the exercise
  • Don't hold your breath
  • Don't arch your head up on the upward movement
