Side Bend - Dumbbell

Stand upright, with a good posture and with a dumbbell in your right hand.

Slowly lean sideways to your right as far as you can comfortably go. No slowly return to your upright position. When you have finished your right side hold the dumbbell in your left hand and repeat for your left side.


Do's Don'ts
  • Do move in a slow controlled manner
  • Do breathe in on the way down and out on the way up
  • Do hold the dumbbell on the side that you lower
  • Don't hold your breath
  • Don't swing wildly up and down
  • Don't hold a dumbbell in each hand
  • Don't lean forwards or backwards
  • Don't do this exercise if you have a bad back
